The 4th Uniprix Fondation Martin-Matte Cup raised $228,600 for people living with a head injury, when close to 100 participants got together for a friendly tennis tournament on June 11 at Uniprix Stadium. The Uniprix team, composed of Philippe Tremblay and Jean-François Bérard, won top honours for the competitive portion of the tournament.
Proceeds from the Cup will go toward a specialized housing facility in Blainville. At the end of the year, the new Maison Martin-Matte house will be opening its doors to 20 people with a head injury or physical disability. The house will provide them with a real home and all the necessary resources. It will be the third Martin-Matte facility in the province, with the other two located in Laval and Sherbrooke.
