How is your skin faring?
Let’s begin by defining the term “dermo-cosmetics.”?
It is the branch of dermatology that studies cosmetics. Dermo-cosmetics are therefore special skin care products formulated to treat various skin conditions. They are produced in consultation with dermatologists.
Dermo-cosmetics differ from regular skin care products because they contain active ingredients that work deeply into the dermis, the second layer of the epidermis. The molecules in these products are finer, making them better suited to penetrate deep into skin cells.
But to give your skin the care it needs, you must first understand it. That’s where the Uniprix dermo-cosmetic centres come in. They make available a tool specifically designed to diagnose the condition of a person’s skin.
The Dermo-Analyzer is equipped with a video-microscope that increases magnification thirtyfold, so that the top and inner layers of the epidermis can be analyzed. In doing so, it helps to detect:
- the presence or absence of sebum in your pores;
- pigment spots;
- dry patches caused by a lack of oil;
- dilated pores in oily, normal and combination skin;
- broken capillaries in sensitive skin;
- fine lines and wrinkles;
- the presence of dry or oily skin flakes.
The device also has a hydrometer to measure skin’s hydration level.
Did you know that skin loses half a litre of water every day? That’s why dry skin is often a problem. And when skin lacks moisture, it also loses its elasticity.
Here are the results that can be obtained with the hydrometer:
- More than 40%: well hydrated
- From 30 to 40%: dehydrated
- Less than 30%: very dehydrated
When skin is dehydrated, it is important to use skin care products that will help it regain a suitable level of moisture.
