Gorgeous feet in 6 easy steps
Sandal season has arrived! It’s finally time to put away boots and shoes and let our toes and feet breathe easy!
Did you know that we walk an average of 6,000 steps every day? So, if you want to show off your feet with pride this summer, better start pampering them!
Here are the 6 basic steps of a do-it-yourself pedicure
- Soak: In lukewarm water, add a few drops of lavender essential oil for its relaxing properties or mint for its refreshing effect.
- Remove cuticles: Apply an emollient cream. Push back cuticles with an orangewood stick available at your Uniprix Boutique Beauté.
- Trim nails: Always use clippers made specifically for toenails. Some even have ergonomic features!
- Buff: Always file in the same direction when skin is damp.
- Exfoliate: This will eliminate dead skin and leave feet soft and smooth.
- Moisturize: This is the last step before the nail polish.
Nail polish tips!
- Start with a base coat on perfectly dry nails.
- As for your choice of nail polish colour, there is a wide selection available this season:
- pastels (in a matte, not a lacquered finish): emerald green, almond, apricot, lilac, light yellow
- neutrals: beige, rosé
- grey
- electric blue
- rose and coral, summer’s mainstay shades
- To ensure optimal hold, end with a finishing coat, which will protect your polish for several weeks.
